HSBC Malaysia extends relief to personal and business banking customers impacted by COVID-19 headwinds

HSBC Bank Malaysia and HSBC Amanah Malaysia will continue to extend financial assistance for individuals, microenterprises and SMEs in Malaysia affected by the pandemic.

In line with the announcement of Pakej Perlindungan Rakyat dan Pemulihan Ekonomi (PEMULIH), our financial assistance programmes have been refreshed and full details of each programme are available as below: 

  • For individual customers: Please refer to Section 1 and 2 below for more details, and to select your preferred payment assistance.
  • For Retail Business Banking (RBB) customers: Please refer to Section 3 below for more details, and to select your preferred payment assistance.
  • For business or SME customers, please click here for more information or get in touch with your Relationship Manager.

We would like to assure our customers that with any of our financial assistance programmes, their CCRIS (“Central Credit Reference Information System”) status will not be affected. 

Section 1: HSBC Additional Deferment Programme 2/Payment  Reduction Programme 2 for mortgages/home financing and personal loans/financing accounts

We empathise with individuals and businesses who are going through economic hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic. HSBC has supported our customers through many ups and downs, and our commitment remains unchanged.

Our refreshed financial assistance programmes are now available to assist our customers who are impacted by the COVID-19 situation and require further assistance in servicing their HSBC loans/financing.

Section 2: HSBC Relief Balance Conversion (RBC) Programme and RBC Deferment Programme for individual credit card customers

HSBC Bank Malaysia and HSBC Amanah Malaysia will include our payment assistance support to our credit card/-i customers.

HSBC Targeted Assistance Programme

We empathise with individuals and businesses who are going through economic hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic. HSBC has supported our customers through many ups and downs, and our commitment remains unchanged.

If you are experiencing payment difficulties or need further financial support, please reach out to our Web Chat agents from Monday till Friday except public holiday (9.00am - 9.00pm) by clicking the "Chat" & icon on this page. Remember, if you are worried about making future payments, we will work with you to determine a suitable solution.

We will also be able to provide you with information about The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, or commonly known as Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) which is an agency set up by Bank Negara Malaysia since April 2006 as an alternative option.

HSBC 6-month Automatic Deferment Programme

The 6-month automatic deferment period has ended on 30 September 2020. If you are comfortable that your monthly payments are starting again, we have alternative payment options post the deferment period to help you save more on the total accrued interest/profit/lease rental payable.

Retail/Individual customers who have new loans/financing approved and/or disbursed after 1 April 2020 may also apply for up to 6 months deferment if needed.
